Effect of elements in WTST 52-3 weathering steel plate

WTST 52-3 weathering steel plate, namely atmospheric corrosion resistant steel, belongs to low alloy high strength structural steel. According to its main characteristics, it can be divided into high weathering structural steel plate and welding structural weathering steel plate.

A small amount of copper, phosphorus, chromium and nickel are added into the steel grade to form a protective layer on the surface of the metal collective, so as to improve the atmospheric corrosion resistance of the steel.

A small amount of molybdenum, niobium, vanadium, titanium, zirconium and other elements can be added to WTST 52-3 weathering steel plate to refine the grain, improve the mechanical properties of WTST 52-3 weathering steel plate, improve the strength and toughness of the steel, reduce the brittle transition temperature, and make it have better brittle fracture resistance.

The weather resistant steel plate for welding structure has the same function as high weather resistant structural steel except phosphorus, and it can improve the welding performance of WTST 52-3 weathering steel plate.
