The material number of S355J0W steel is
1.8959. EN 10025-5 S355J0W steel weldability: S355J0W plates do not have unlimited suitability for the various welding processes, since the behaviour of a steel during and after welding depends not only on the material but also on the dimensions and shapes and on the manufacturing and service conditions of the components.
S355J0W steel under EN 10025-5 standard is a kind of structural steel with improved atmospheric corrosion resistance steel. It is also called weathering steel or atmosphere corrosion resistance steel. Grade S355 is subdivided into the class W and WP: S355J0W and
S355J0WP, which differ mainly in their carbon and Phosphorus contents.
This EN 10025-5 European Standard specifies requirements for flat and long products of hot rolled steels with improved atmospheric corrosion resistance in the grades and qualities given in chemical composition tables and mechanical properties tables in the usual delivery conditions.
What does S355J0W stand for?
S- symbols for structural steel.
355- indicates the minimum specified yield strength for thickness ≤ 16mm expressed in MPa.
The steel grades may be supplied in qualities J0, J2 and K2. the qualities differ in specified impact energy requirements.
W - indicates the steel has an improved atmospheric corrosion resistance.
Grade S355 is subdivided into the class W and WP, which differ mainly in their carbon and Phosphorus contents.
