A588 Gr.C steel plate has advantages over other steels by its “weathering” ability giving the material atmospheric protection and prolonging the life of the metal. It has a tensile strength of at least 70,000 psi, yield strength of at least 50,000 psi in thickness up to 4”. Elongation is 16% in 8” and 19% in 2”. Some common applications are trucks, cranes, bridges, structures, etc.

Mechanical Properties for anticorrosive A588 Gr.C steel plate:
Tensile: 70 ksi min (4” and under), 67 ksi min (4”- 5”) 63 ksi min (Over 5”-8”)
Yield: 50 ksi min (4” and under), 46 ksi min (4”- 5”) 42 ksi min (Over 5”-8”)
Elongation: 16% min in 8” 19% min in 2” (for plates wider than 24”)
