Weathering steel, also known as atmospheric corrosion-resistant steel, refers to the addition of a small amount of alloying elements such as Cr, Ni, Cu, P, etc., to form a dense amorphous state between the rust layer on the surface of the steel plate and the substrate and has strong adhesion to the substrate metal. The oxide layer prevents oxygen and water in the atmosphere from penetrating into the substrate, slows down corrosion, and is a low-alloy high-strength steel with good corrosion resistance in the atmosphere.
