BS4360 WR50A steel plate equivalent material and performance

The BS4360 WR50A steel plate is a structural weathering steel, also known as atmospheric corrosion resistant steel.

The main BS4360 WR50A steel plate alloying elements are chromium, nickel and copper, plus phosphorus, with good self-protection performance. As the steel reacts with elements in the atmosphere, over time the material forms a layer of rust, which essentially protects the steel from corrosion.

BS4360 WR50A steel plate is equivalent to S355J0WP(1.8945) in EN 10025-5:2004, FE510C1K1 in UNI standard and E36WA3 in NFA 35-502 standard.

For strip and BS4360 WR50A steel plate of 600mm width, they are suitable for transverse specimens.
If the mechanical properties of the BS4360 WR50A steel plate are significantly improved during the low temperature forming process, stress release or normalization annealing can be used. Standardization should also be carried out after thermal forming and after overheating beyond the temperature range of 750-1.050 ℃.
