Corten A steel plate is not only a kind of steel plate, but also can process Corten steel plate into seamless steel pipe, fin belt and pipe. Corten A steel plate is used in power, metallurgy, petrochemical and other industries, with coal or heavy oil as the main fuel for flue gas treatment systems, such as air preheaters at low temperature parts of boilers, economizers, flues, chimneys and desulfurization devices.

Corten A steel plate generally encounter high sulfur content in the fuel, and sulfuric acid is formed at the dew point temperature to cause equipment corrosion. This is called sulfuric acid dew point corrosion. Different from ordinary atmospheric corrosion, this kind of corrosion not only corrodes ordinary carbon steel, but also corrodes stainless steel, so it is very harmful.

For boilers with higher sulfur content fuel, the flue gas contains sulfur dioxide and sulfur trioxide, which combine with the water vapor in the flue gas to form sulfurous acid and sulfuric acid, and condense on the low-temperature parts of the boiler, causing sulfuric acid dew point corrosion. Boiler low-temperature parts made of plain carbon steel have poor resistance to sulfuric acid dew point corrosion, severe corrosion, and short service life.
