SG255 is a steel material used to manufacture liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders, and its production process usually includes the following steps:
1. Raw material ingredients: Mix the appropriate amount of iron ore, scrap steel and other alloying elements evenly, and send them into the blast furnace or electric arc furnace for smelting.
2. Steelmaking: In a blast furnace or an electric arc furnace, the raw materials are heated to high temperature and a flux is added to cause a chemical reaction to form molten steel in a molten state.
3. Liquid steel quenching and tempering: Deoxidation, vacuum treatment and refining are carried out on molten steel to improve the purity and uniformity of SG255 gas cylinder steel.
4. Continuous casting: pour the molten steel into the continuous casting machine, gradually cool and solidify through the crystallizer, and form SG255 steel plate or steel coil.
5. Rolling: SG255 steel plate or coil is rolled to the desired thickness and width.
6. Heat treatment: The rolled SG255 steel plate or coil is subjected to heat treatment to change its physical and mechanical properties.
7. Coating and Cutting: Surface coating and cutting of heat-treated steel sheets or coils to desired shapes and sizes.
The resulting SG255 steel material has high strength, toughness and corrosion resistance, which is very suitable for making containers such as gas cylinders.
