After adding trace elements such as phosphorus, copper, chromium and nickel into EN 10025-5 S355J0W steel plate, the surface of EN 10025-5 S355J0W steel plate formed a dense and highly adhesive protective film. This film hinders the diffusion and development of rust and protects the substrate beneath the rust layer to slow down the corrosion rate.
The adhesion between the amorphous spinel oxide layer of approximately 50μm to 100μm formed between the EN 10025-5 S355J0W steel plate rust layer and the substrate and the matrix metal is good.
Due to the existence of this dense oxide film, oxygen and water in the atmosphere are prevented from infiltrating into EN 10025-5 S355J0W steel plate matrix. And the further development of corrosion is slowed down, and the atmospheric corrosion resistance of EN 10025-5 S355J0W steel plate is greatly improved.
