Optimization of A588GrA Steel Heating System

When the A588GrA steel is heated at a higher heating temperature than the Q235B steel, the temperature of the soaking section is 1240 ~ 1260 ℃, and the slab descaling effect is better at this time. The air-fuel ratio is controlled between 0.5 and 0.7, which can shorten the heating time of the slab in the furnace and reduce the occurrence of "copper brittleness".

The heating system is one of the reasons for the occurrence of surface crack defects in the American Standard weathering low alloy steel A588GrA. Controlling the temperature of the soaking section of the heating furnace at 1240~1260℃ can reduce the probability of surface crack defects.

Practice has proved that in the process of composition design, adding Ni to A588GrA steel can reduce the probability of surface crack defects of A588GrA steel, so in the actual production process, w(Cu) and w(Ni) are controlled at 0.30% and 0.15% respectively more reasonable.
