Adaptability and flexibility: compared with other conventional processing methods, ASTM A588 steel plate laser cutting has greater adaptability. Compared with other thermal cutting methods, as a thermal cutting process, other methods can not act on a smaller area like laser beam, resulting in wide notch, large heat affected area and obvious workpiece deformation. Laser can cut nonmetals, while other thermal cutting methods cannot.

ASTM A588 steel plate has narrow cutting seam and small workpiece deformation: the laser beam is focused into a small light spot to achieve high power density at the focus. At this time, the heat input by the beam far exceeds the part reflected, conducted or diffused by the material.

The material is quickly heated to the degree of vaporization and evaporates to form holes. With the relative linear movement of the beam and the material, the holes continuously form slits with very narrow width. The thermal effect of trimming is very small, and the ASTM A588 steel plate basically has no workpiece deformation.

Non contact processing of ASTM A588 steel plate: a small action point with strong energy is formed after laser beam focusing. There are many characteristics when it is applied to cutting.
