A detailed introduction to the tower equipment

The tower equipment is a process equipment with a cylindrical welded structure, which is composed of a cylinder, a head (or cover) and a support. It is a non-standard equipment specially designed and manufactured for a certain production process requirement. The tower equipment is an upright equipment used for the operation of chemical units such as distillation, purification, absorption, and rectification. It is widely used for mass transfer and heat transfer between gas-liquid and liquid-liquid phases.

If the inside of the tower equipment vessel only contains materials without chemical reactions and other physical and chemical processes, there are no facilities or only simple auxiliary structures, also known as tanks. The tower container is divided into two types: vertical (the axis is vertical) and horizontal (the axis is horizontal). Most of the towers are pressure vessels.

The tower equipment is a device for material transfer between the gas phase and the liquid phase or between the liquid phase and the liquid phase. According to the structure, it is divided into two categories: plate tower equipment and packed tower equipment.

A certain number of trays are arranged in the plate tower equipment, and the gas contacts the liquid layer on the trays in the form of bubbling or spraying for material transfer.

The packed tower equipment is equipped with a certain height of packing, the liquid flows from top to bottom along the packing, and the gas is in countercurrent contact with the liquid film from bottom to top to carry out material transfer. It is often used in distillation, water absorption, extraction and other operations.
