Brief introduction and atmospheric corrosion resistance of S355J2W weathering steel

1. S355J2W weathering steel is European standard atmospheric corrosion-resistant steel, which belongs to weathering steel plate. It is a kind of low-alloy steel made by adding a certain amount of alloy elements into ordinary steel. The atmospheric corrosion resistance of S355J2W weathering steel is 2-8 times higher than that of ordinary carbon steel.

S355J2W weathering steel has good mechanical properties and welding properties, and the longer the time, the more obvious the corrosion resistance.

2. Standard of S355J2W weathering steel: EN10025-5: 2004.

3. Delivery status of S355J2W weathering steel: hot rolled, normalized or normalized rolled.

4. Smelting method of S355J2W weathering steel: the smelting method shall meet the requirements of EN10025-1. If there are regulations when ordering, the method of curing shall be reported to the buyer.

5. A certain amount of alloy elements, such as P, Cu, Cr, Ni, Mo, are added into S355J2W weathering steel. In order to increase the resistance to air corrosion, an automatic protection oxide is formed on the base metal of S355J2W weathering steel under the influence of climatic conditions.
