Chemical composition of Q355NH steel

Q355NH steel is a hot continuous rolled steel that is resistant to atmospheric corrosion, also known as Cowden steel or corrosion resistant steel. It is between ordinary steel and stainless steel, belonging to the low alloy steel series.

Q355NH steel has good weather resistance and can be used in harsh natural environments for a long time without obvious corrosion and damage.

A certain amount of weather-resistant elements, such as chromium and nickel, are added to the steel to form a dense oxide film on the surface of the steel, thereby resisting atmospheric corrosion.

Q355NH steel also has good high strength, high toughness and good weldability.

The chemical composition of Q355NH steel mainly includes carbon (C), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), phosphorus (P), sulfur (S) and a small amount of chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), copper (Cu) and other alloying elements. Among them, the carbon (C) content is between 0.12 and 0.21%, the silicon (Si) content is between 0.2 and 2.0%, and the manganese (Mn) content is between 0.7 and 2.0%. The content of phosphorus (P) and sulfur (S) does not exceed 0.034% and 0.036% respectively, and as impurity elements, their content needs to be strictly controlled to ensure the performance of the steel plate. Although the content of chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni) and other alloying elements is relatively small, it plays an important role in improving the mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and welding performance of steel plates.

Q355NH steel has excellent mechanical properties, its tensile strength reaches 470-630 mpa, and the yield strength is 355MPa.

At the same time, the index of elongation, impact toughness and fatigue strength of the steel grade is also excellent, which can meet the requirements of use under various complex working conditions.
